Davenport, Fla (January 8, 2019) — The Providence Booby Brigade finished off another banner year of fundraising activities for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, resulting in more than $26,000 donated to this important organization. Events such as the Pink Classic golf tournament and Casino Night engaged residents of this golf club community with each other in a shared goal of helping others.

This golf club community on the outskirts of Orlando, Florida is a top fundraiser for the sixth year in a row.

“The community has been coming together for six years now to raise record funds for breast cancer research and prevention,” says Yuval Botansky, President of ABD, the developer and Orlando custom home builder behind Providence Golf Club Community. “Each year it is simply amazing to watch this team of organizers and participants go above and beyond expectations and raise the most money of any group among them.”

The Pink Classic Golf Outing and Pink Party Casino Night & Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament were as always the largest events earning most of the totals for 2018.  Quarter Auctions and Ice Cream Socials were more frequent and a great way to spotlight the team and have fun gathering together.  New this time was a motorcycle ride, Torque For Ta Ta’s, organized by spouses and friends of team members. The keystone event for the Providence Booby Brigade was the annual walk at Lake Mirror in Lakeland, Florida, alongside the other teams of Making Strides of Polk County.

Events included a golf tournament on the championship course and casino night at the elegant clubhouse.

“We are so grateful for the support from the Providence builders, our numerous sponsors (at all levels), the Providence residents, and our team members and volunteers!  A special thank you to Providence Golf Club for providing the venue for our events,” says Providence team captain and resident Mary Beth Miesemer. “We are committed to continuing our fundraising in 2019 and looking forward to bringing back community favorites as well as something new for the community — stay tuned for details.”
